Mari Abramishvili is a contemporary visual artist based in Tbilisi, Georgia. Working primarily across oil and acrylic painting, mixed media, and installation, her practice explores the relationship between nature, memory, femininity, and identity.

Drawing inspiration from the natural world and personal experience, Mari creates emotionally charged works that examine vulnerability, transformation, and the ways women experience and construct identity. Color, organic forms, texture, and recurring feminine figures play a central role in her visual language.

Her work has been presented in group and solo exhibitions in Georgia and internationally including Armenia.

My artistic practice explores the relationship between the inner self and the natural world, with a particular focus on femininity, identity, emotion, and transformation. Working primarily through painting and increasingly through mixed media and installation, I use the human figure, organic forms, color, and texture to translate personal experiences into visual narratives.

Nature is both a source of inspiration and a symbolic language within my work. Plants, flowers, landscapes, and other organic forms often become extensions of emotional and psychological states. I am interested in the parallels between human experience and natural processes: growth and decay, vulnerability and resilience, restriction and freedom, and the continuous process of transformation. Rather than depicting nature simply as a setting, I use it as an active presence through which internal experiences can take physical form.

The female figure is central to much of my work. Through it, I explore different experiences of femininity: from vulnerability, expectation, and confinement to autonomy, sensuality, and self-discovery. My figures often exist in surreal or psychologically charged environments where the boundaries between the body and its surroundings begin to dissolve. These spaces allow me to approach personal experiences while connecting them to broader questions of identity and the roles imposed upon women.

My practice continues to expand beyond the traditional canvas. I am interested in incorporating physical materials and installation to bring elements of my paintings into three-dimensional space, creating a more direct relationship between the artwork, the body, and the viewer. Across these different forms, I see art as a way of transforming experiences that can be difficult to articulate into something visible, tangible, and open to interpretation.
